Dr. Ben Lifsey, Jr.

Dr. Lifsey is a native of Jackson, TN.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Master of Science degree in Life Sciences with special interest in environmental toxicology, and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee.  Dr. Lifsey's wife, Daron, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mom for their two children, Hannah and Jacob.  Collectively, they have five dogs, Pickwick, Sister, Scooter, Tucker and Slough, three cats, Dixie, Dottie and Angel and a turtle named Bitz.

Dr. Lifsey is a member of the American Veterinary Association and the Tennessee Veterinary Association.  Along with a number of his colleagues, he was instrumental in the establishment of, and serves on the Board of Directors for, the Jackson Pet Emergency Clinic, an afterhours emergency facility located in Jackson.  In addition, he serves as Chair of the Facility committee and the Quality Care Assurance committee for the clinic.

Dr. Lifsey is a second generation veterinarian.  His father, Dr. Ben Lifsey, Sr., retired in 1999 after providing the Jackson community with veterinary care at Lifsey Animal Clinic for 42 years.

 

Candace Goodman, veterinary assistant

Candace joined University Parkway Animal Hospital in January 2008.  She is from Hardeman county south of Jackson.  Candace loves animals and has enjoyed working with them over the years.  She currently cares for two Labrador Retrievers, Rocky and Bullwinkle.  Her primary duties at the hospital are client interaction and education, assisting with patient examinations and treatments, surgical preparation, and laboratory analysis.

 

Megan Elston, veterinary/kennel assistant

Megan is a Jackson area native.  She has a number of horses and dogs that she cares for.  Her primary duties  include maintaining the kennel, assisting in patient examination, treatment and surgery, patient surgical preparation, laboratory analyses, and other general patient care and duties.
