If you suspect your pet is in pain for any reason, we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment with our experienced and compassionate veterinary team. Recognizing Pet Pain Awareness Month

Hosted by the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, Animal Pain Awareness Month is centered around the idea that all pet owners should be properly educated on how to detect and address signs of acute and chronic pain in pets. This is pain that could be caused by a recent surgery, an underlying condition (such as arthritis), cancer, or even just growing old.

Throughout the month of August, pet owners are encouraged to participate in Animal Pain Awareness Month by raising awareness and being on the lookout for signs of pain in their own pets. Behaviors such as refusing to eat, being more lethargic than usual, and even over-grooming can all be underlying signs of pain that need to be addressed.

If your pet shows any signs of pain, the best thing you can do is bring him or her into our veterinary clinic for a detailed exam and evaluation. From there, we can propose a plan for pain management with your pet's best interests in mind.
